It's absurdly hot today. Yes, it's June in Georgia, but it shouldn't be in the upper 90s already!

This weekend has been rather low-key. Tom set-up the automatic drip system for my veggie plants. I've been watering by hand; however, since we'll be gone for a week soon, we needed something to take care of my beauties!



Once the kids wake up, we're walking down the street to a block party. It appears there will be a bouncy castle, which will either thrill or terrify Amelia. Katie will be cruising in style in her wagon. :) As for me? I'll be sweating like a fiend.

i feel ya on the weather...right before i read your post i got an e-mail from one of the local news channels with the weather forecast:

Tonight... Clear. Mild & muggy.
Lows: 67 to 72.
Winds: S/SE 4-9 MPH.

Monday... Continued sunshine. Hot & humid.
Highs: 89 to 93.
Winds: S 8-16 MPH.

I have total plant envy too. Our plants are not doing nearly as well. Then again, they are still in little pots on my kitchen table.

I just realized that my poor hibiscus on the front stoop needs water desperately. I'm off to go do that right now.

I'm ignoring the people with plant envy, by the way *grin* I have a brown thumb. They shouldn't even let me into botanical gardens because the plants would mysteriously die!

The party was nice, but it was WAY too hot. We only lasted for about 45 minutes before we had to skeedaddle. Amelia was flushed, and Katie was miserable. :/

Hee about you and your brown thumb. You should try something that can take a great deal of abuse and work your way in!

Believe it or not, the only plant I've ever NOT killed are african violets, which I was told are quite fragile.
