Tom had to go to the dermatologist today for a very mysterious quick-developing ear thingie. I noticed it about 2 weeks ago, and asked him about it last week. It grew rapidly and it was hard as a rock. Tom saw his regular doctor on the 26th who said, "Hrm, that's interesting. Go see Dermatology, and tell your wife to stop poking at it."
Since it was a "We have a suspicious lump" referral, they got him in quickly. The dermatologist is confident it's just a cyst, but she biopsied it just in case. He's got a bandage on it til tomorrow, but the Ear Thingie O' Doom is gone!

I had a lovely Christmas Eve with my aunt and uncle. We all went to the children's service at the church, which was packed. It's amazing how many people will show up if they offer birthday cake for Jesus! (They ended up having to run out and get supplemental Krispy Kreme donuts because they had such a huge turnout.)
We came back here for spaghetti, cookie decorating, and a night of relaxing. The kids are asleep, the gifts are under the tree and by the fireplace, and I'm ready to crash.
Merry Christmas, everyone. I hope you get something lovely in your stocking. :D

My aunt called today. She's driving up here to spend Christmas with us. This is really brightening up my mood. I'd been going through the motions this holiday season. as this was the first since the death of my mother (her sister).
My aunt is one of my favorite people in the world. I'm so thrilled she's going to be spending the holiday with us.

Amelia had a school friend over for a playdate today. It was pretty long playdate (2.5 hours) while the other mom was out running errands (she has a small baby, and I remember those sleep deprived days so well.). Amelia and her friend had so much fun playing together, and while I was tired keeping the two of them plus Katie entertained and the house intact, it was worth it. (Activitities included Play-doh, hide and seek, drawing, jumping on the mini-trampoline, chasing, "Supergirl", watching an episode of Martha Speaks, more chasing, a tour of the house, aquadoodling , and having a snack. It's amazing how much three children can pack into less than three hours.)
Amelia was so happy, her friend had a great time, and the next playdate (a drop-off at the friend's house) is coming up soon!
The rules are that for 8 days you have to post something that made you happy that day. Tag 8 people to do the same. I tag anyone who wants to do this. It's good to be grateful.
