The words "poop everywhere" do not adequately describe the scene that we encountered this morning when walking into Katie's room.

Between potty training Amelia and Katie's digestive system rebelling, I'm gonna need more bleach.

I do understand, you have my sympathy and worse, my empathy, and yes, toilet training is hell.

Oh, poor you! I know just what that is like.

Reaching into your child's crib in the dark at 2:00 in the morning to be greeted by a naked, slimy mess....

*sigh*

You're way braver than me. I tried potty training for about a day and decided, hmmm..."I guess she won't go to high school in diapers!"

and indeedy. Hang in there. It really is going to get better. Even this part folds in with the happy memories later on.

Well, mostly ;)

Just to be clear -- I was actually the one who walked into Katie's room to think "Oh My God, what is that SMELL?", only to discover it looked like puke (and guess where her head was...), but was actually poop. Everywhere.

And I bathed her, after summoning Heather to turn on the tub. She also gathered the trashed bed linens/toys/changing table cover and stuffed them into the washer, to be run at NASA hot.

She, however, is dealing with the girls today, and it's certainly not pleasant. I'll do my best to rescue her this evening.

If I were rich, I'd buy you a present too. The more I see of what parents cope with, the more I think they deserve presents.

Well, it's working for me. Still child-free since 1991.
