Dec. 24th, 2007 09:11 amThursday night,
cardinalximinez ,
fizzgig_bites , and their daughter passed through town. We had a relaxing night of chatting and Wii'ing. They left mid-day on Friday, and I spent the afternoon getting Amelia unsassified and beating down a migraine. Tom cut out of work early, and we dropped the kids off with his sister so we could celebrate his birthday (a week early, but who's counting?).
We ate entirely too much at Fogo de Chao, which we hadn't been to in years. We managed to have an entire meal without talking about the kids, which is a miracle. After dinner, we browsed through a store or two, then picked up the kids. For the first time, Katie didn't freak out about being watched by someone besides us! This is a huge development. She normally fusses so hard, that she's miserable and spent if we leave her with others. I think this time may have been better because she understood us when we told her we'd only be gone for a bit, and we'd be back soon.
Saturday, we ran down to Ikea to do some returns and eat their obnoxiously large cinnamon rolls. I went to the Y while the girls napped, and I had a great workout. I hadn't been for 2 weeks, so I was feeling quite guilty. I actually felt better after the workout, which is a rare experience for me!
Today will be a whole lot of vegging. Tom's working today, and my big mission for the day is to get cookies baked for Santa. We're going over to dinner at Tom's sister's house, which should be lovely. We'll come home and hang the stockings for Santa to fill. (Normally we would hang stockings early, but Katie would have pulled them down.)
I hope all of you are avoiding the mall and relaxing with your loved ones.
