heathrowga: (The girls)

While picking the girls up from preschool today, Amelia said she wanted to show me something in the music room. She led me into the Scholastic book fair and said, "Look, Mommy! They have so many perfect books for sale!  I need new books!"

Katie made a beeline for a Wow Wow Wubbzy book, clutched it to her chest, and proclaimed "Wuzzy!" in ecstasy. I was barely able to get it from her at the register to see how much it cost. She's currently napping with it.

I will never deny these children books. :)

If you're looking for even more books, a used bookstore just opened up here in the sticks. It's called Once and Again Books, and the kids already picked up a few books a piece from it.

i'm coming to the conclusion that there is a reason that you and i live where we do. it's like we're so alike that we have to balance out the country ;)

A's preschool sends the catalogs home on a monthly basis. Preschool!

Skippyjon Jones is a series? Katie loves the original book. Hrm.

Meg wants Skippyjon Jones and the Mummy. Apparently there is also a Skippyjon Jones and the Big Bones. Who knew?

When I was in grade school my mother came to dread those book fairs, and those Scholastic flyers they used to send home so we could order books through the school. The problem was that I wanted every book available, almost. Even though I went to the library every week, I always wanted more books.

Some things never change... :)

Good for you for buying your girls books. And it's great that they love them!

It is so hard to say no to kids wanting books! LOL. We have to put a limit on things when we go to B&N. But when we do go we have to plan to spend hours in there - there's no such thing as a quick trip to a B&N. The girls spend HOURS in there like it's a toy store! LOL
