I'm so lazy nowadays. I post little soundbites of my life over on Facebook, and I keep thinking, "I should post something of substance on Livejournal" then I get distracted by the children or something shiny.  My apologies.

It's been a month since my gallbladder was evicted. The surgery recovery was pretty easy, and I am thankful it is gone. However, I'm not so friendly with certain food after surgery. Coffee and dairy are both pretty rough on me, so I've been upping the probiotics.  In addition, I had a nasty 24-hour bout of pain after eating a lightly spiced flank steak (only about 4 oz) which threw me.  I've gone to eating red meat only a couple of times a week (my pork loving ancestors would weep!), but to have that time fire back on me? Gah!

Amelia loves kindergarten, with so many flying puffy hearts around it. She's keeping a writing journal at school, and she has her first spelling test in a few weeks. This seems very advanced for kindergarten, but everything is being pushed younger nowadays. I'm glad that they balance it out with lots of recess, dancing, and the Friday movie.

Katie's preschool starts up in 9 days, NOT THAT I AM COUNTING. Having the schools start up over a month apart is some sort of cruel torture. Katie has taken to waking up right as Amelia and Tom leave for the school bus and wanting to go do something Right Then! Me: "Kid, it's 7:10 A.M.. Do you want to go to work? Chill out, watch some Special Agent Oso, and let me wake up."

Otherwise, same old, same old. You?

Is it the meat or the spicy?
Glad you're mostly recovered, though!

Yay for Amelia!

Mostly same here. I've felt lower key lately, but I think that's me learning to relax a bit more and better.

So many different ways to look at Facebook type interactions - sure it's not deep, but considering that you're being distracted away by the children, that can maybe be a good thing sometimes? Click, short snippet of a post and off to do things with the kids! vs. "Not now! Have an entry to write!"

I ramble :)

I don't really know which one it is. I've been a bit of a chicken to test out spicing up some other proteins. :/

I think waves and ebbs are normal. Not everything has to be throttled up. God, I hope not.

I like that attitude - viewing Facebook as mingling at a busy party. It brings much less guilt.

I ramble too. One of the reasons you charm me. :)

I have also been ignoring LJ. It seems my friends list made a mass exodus to Facebook over the last several months. I still consider LJ to be a safer place for me to spill it all. I just can't seem to find the time or motivation to do so.

And pork? The other white meat. ;)

Pork is good stuff. I just have to pay the price later on.

LJ just seems to require such planning in comparison to FB.

i think it's the change of seasons with sunset getting earlier. I'm feeling lazier too.

Maybe it's just being sleepy. Or maybe I need to up my meds ;)

Awww, your kid rocked. :) (She still does, but in different ways!)

The preschool starts after Labor Day. It's like the only school here in Georgia that does. I understand they want to get training in, and most of their kids go to public schools. It's been nice to have this one-on-one time with Katie, but ... I'm ready for Mommy time. I'm a greedy b****. What can I say?

I can have coffee, but I pay for it immediately afterwards. I can just have one cup a day, and I really have to crave it. :(

They're breeding super-geniuses! :D Seriously, that's why I fiercely guard my daughter's downtime. I don't do the flash cards, I don't do anything but the absolutely required homework, etc.. When she is not at school, she is to be playing, doing art, vegging, reading, or doing nothing. She is so tuckered out by Fridays that she will conk out during her beloved post-school cartoon fix!

Thank you for the thank you. :)
